Nayla Reynolds
Nayla Reynolds earned her BA in Music from Cal State University, Northridge. A long-time educator, Nayla has over twenty years of teaching experience in both private and public schools and she currently teaches music at Los Primeros School and Mesa Union School. She has taught choir, ukulele and piano, and will be teaching ukulele this fall at Crescendo Music Academy in Camarillo, for the second year in a row. Her favorite instrument that she’s ever played is the steel drum! Nayla loves to sing and is very excited to share her passion for music with the students at Los Primeros School!
Kirk Raymond
Mr. Raymond starts his second year in the Pleasant Valley School District. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from California State University Long Beach and a Masters of Science in School Counseling from University of LaVerne. He was the music teacher at Rio Mesa High School in the 1980’s and 90’s, and then became a school guidance counselor until 2016. From 2018-2022 he was asked to develop the music program at Rio Del Sol S.T.E.A.M school in Oxnard.
Mr. Raymond founded the Camarillo Community Band and recently was a guest conductor for their 40th season. His high school bands have performed on the Capitol Steps in Sacramento, Opening Days of Dodger Baseball, Opening Day of the 1984 LA Olympic Baseball games, Disneyland’s Main Street Parade and Knotts Berry farm.The Rio Mesa Bands toured Northern California and the Southwest United States several times during his tenure. Locally, his groups have performed for many events, including the Camarillo Christmas Parade, SCSBOA festivals and Field Competitions, and City of Camarillo Celebrations. He looks forward to working with the LPSSA students to develop their musical talents.
